Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Barnið (the "app"), provided by Eggert Már ("we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

What Barnið is

Barnið helps parents and other caregivers log and share a baby's sleep, feeding, nappy changes, and appointments. It is a caregiving/organizational tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice. Predictions and suggestions the app makes (such as a predicted next sleep window) are estimates based on the information you enter and general age-based patterns — they are not medical guidance and should never replace the judgment of a pediatrician or other qualified professional.

Your account

• You may use the app as an anonymous guest, or create an account via Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter about your baby and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
• You must be an adult legally able to enter into these Terms to create an account. The app is intended for use by parents/caregivers, not by children.

Sharing a baby's data

Barnið lets you invite other guardians (such as a co-parent or nanny) to a baby's record using an invite code. Anyone you invite and who accepts will be able to see and add to that baby's care data. You're responsible for only sharing invite codes with people you intend to give this access to.

Subscription (Barnið Premium)

• Certain features (currently: appointment scheduling, Sleep Time predictions, and sharing a baby with more than two guardians) require an active Barnið Premium subscription after a 14-day free trial.
• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's In-App Purchase system at the price and billing period (monthly or annual) shown in the app at the time of purchase. Your Apple ID account will be charged upon confirmation of purchase, and subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple according to Apple's own policies, not by us directly.
• A subscription applies to a baby's guardians collectively — if one guardian of a baby subscribes, every guardian of that baby gets access to the premium features for that baby.

Account deletion

You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account. This action is irreversible.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the app to store or share information about a child other than one in your actual care, or in any way that violates another person's privacy or legal rights.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Iceland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
